What this policy covers
InkPrompts provides public journaling articles and prompts. You can read the site without creating an account, submitting a form, or giving us your name.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display and measure advertising. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, or similar identifiers. These identifiers can be used to serve and measure ads, limit how often an ad appears, and personalize advertising depending on your choices and applicable law. The ads selected for you may be based on past visits to InkPrompts or other websites. These vendors may also process device information, IP address, approximate location, page activity, and advertising identifiers for those purposes.
Google Privacy & Messaging manages advertising and Analytics consent in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. In those regions, the consent message lists participating vendors and lets you accept, reject, or manage how they use data through the privacy message shown on ordinary pages. You can revisit those choices through Cookie settings in the footer.
You can use Google Ads Settings to control or turn off personalized ads. You can also review Google's information about data use on partner sites.
Information you choose to send
If you email us, we receive your email address, the message, and any information you include. We use it to reply, correct content, consider suggestions, and maintain a record of the conversation. Please do not send sensitive health or financial information.
Hosting and analytics
The site is hosted by Vercel. Vercel processes technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site. We also use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate page views, referrers, countries, devices, and browsers. Vercel states that Web Analytics does not use cookies and does not associate analytics events with an individual or IP address.
In regions managed by Google Privacy & Messaging, Google Analytics loads only when its Analytics consent status is granted. In other regions, the site asks for a separate, explicit Analytics choice. If you decline or have not chosen, Google Analytics does not load. Declining does not limit any article, prompt, or other reading feature.
If accepted, Google Analytics can collect page activity, approximate location, and browser and device information. It can store a client ID in a first-party cookie named _ga to distinguish users and sessions.
You can read Vercel's Web Analytics privacy information and Vercel privacy notice.
You can also read Google's Analytics data collection information.
Cookies
Google Analytics may set the first-party _gacookie after you accept analytics. The site stores your accept or decline choice in your browser's local storage, which is separate from cookies. Google AdSense and its partners may use advertising cookies or similar storage as described above.
Sharing and retention
We do not sell personal information. Information is shared only with service providers needed to host the site or deliver email, when required by law, or to protect the site and its readers. Email messages are retained only while they remain useful for the reason you contacted us or for legitimate recordkeeping needs.
Your choices
Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice at any time. Withdrawing does not erase information already sent, but it prevents Google Analytics from loading on later page loads or visits. You can also delete the _ga cookie through your browser settings.
You may ask what personal information we hold from an email conversation, or request correction or deletion where applicable. We may need to verify that the request comes from the same email address.
Children's privacy
The Kids and Teens pages do not load AdSense, Google Privacy & Messaging, Google Analytics, or Vercel Analytics. Their Random Prompt interaction uses the page's prompt list in the browser and does not send a selection to an external service.
InkPrompts does not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has emailed us may contact us to request deletion.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the site adds new features. The date at the top will change when we do. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@inkprompts.com.
